EC fans

Fans that combine AC and DC voltages to offer the best of both technologies

The EC (Electronically Commutated) series of frame fans works with both alternating current and direct current. More specifically, the motor operates with DC voltage but is powered from a normal AC source. This is because DC motors consume little power but to be used in AC applications they need a voltage adapter. This function is achieved in EC frame fans by an integrated PCB board, which houses all the controls onboard the fan.

Compact EC fans

The advantages of DC and AC voltages managed in the same fan, via a PCB integrated in the fan itself.

Operating principle

The DC brushless motor has permanent magnets. The stator is operated by electronic switches controlled by a microcontroller. AC operation (115/230 Volt single-phase, 50/60 Hz).

Energy saving

Minimised power consumption and efficiency higher than that of an equivalent AC fan.

Wide operating range

EC frame fans have a very wide operating range: 230 V ac 140~264 V ac; 115 V ac 80~132 V ac.

Low temperature, maximum durability

The low-temperature electronically commutated frame fan motor provides longer life than its AC equivalent.

Simplicity of operation

In the compact EC fans, electronics and electrical conversion take place completely inside the motor, thanks to integrated components.

High performance

Electronically commutated frame fans express better pressure and airflow values than an equivalent AC fan.
