Roberto Brioschi was born in 1941, in a small village in the Oltrepò Pavese, near Pavia (Italy). He graduated in Industrial Chemistry in 1960 and was hired by Carlo Erba the same year. He started working for Agip Mineraria one year later.
In 1964, he joined the multinational Italcolloid S.p.A. under British, then US, finally Dutch management for the following five years. The period was a fruitful one for Brioschi, who came into contact with diverse and management methods that were particularly advanced for the day. During the same time, he had the opportunity to deal with the sales and development of the parent company's products.
Brioschi left Italcolloid S.p.A. in 1970, at the age of 29, as Deputy Director of Sales to work as Executive and General Manager at the multi-divisional trading company Kimates. He continued to study and learn, attending two years of Chemical Engineering, and Marketing, Management courses, continuous training seminars - managed by Studio Ambrosetti - and specialization courses in English.
Between 1970 and 1980 he was President of the Komest subsidiaries, responsible for trade and representations with the Soviet Union, and Kimates Iberica, representing and trading of compact fans.
He sold his company shares in 1981 and started an independent company, Profin S.r.l., operating in the window and mosquito net sector.
Brioschi founded Fandis S.r.l. to distribute the NMB compact fans in 1984.
Profin S.r.l. subsequently developed and specialized in the sale and export of finished mosquito nets. The company merged with Fandis S.p.A. marking the business conversion from trade company to manufacturer.
